A brief PAX East ’12 Recap

Wow…what a weekend. Let me start off by saying after 3 years of PAX East, I finally get it. While I only spent two days there, I got to meet so many cool people and share so many memories and good vibes that I’m still trying to process it all. From new friends I met at the bar over a few “ones that are cold” to the proud and sincere indie developers on the show floor, to the tabletop gamers who were more than willing to teach a noob how to roll. Hell, just the intelligent and thoughtful conversations about Mass Effect alone could have made it worth while for me.

PAX East & an album!

Greetings to the few of you who visit this site that aren’t spam bots! Just a short update, but a big one. First, we’re going to be at PAX East this year…playing at Jamspace and roaming the floor giving away pre-release copies of our album “Clutter in the Machine”. Oh, right…we finished the album. 10 original songs about bacon, science, coffee, addiction, zombies, cowboys, the naughty details about what she may, or may not, have said and more!

Not going to be at PAX? No worries…we’ll be giving the album away online all weekend, so be sure to snag your digital copy before we slap a hefty price tag on this instant classic…or feel free to donate as much cash as you care to for this life changing album. Seriously…we’re talking Sgt Pepper’s for geeks here. Or Duran Duran’s “Rio”. Whichever grabs ya. Check back on 4/6/12 to get your copy!

Quick Update: Songs, Holidays, and Projects

Still here, still going at it. Album (yes, album) is coming along well. Songs are written and recording has been going on for months. Trying to overcome my own shortcomings as a musician is especially difficult when I can’t find a way to reproduce the noises I hear in my head. Hoping to have some live/demo-ish stuff up on the site before the end of the year….which is only 12 days away. Crap.

Stay hungry…

New Song! “You don’t exist in Canada” (kind of)

So those of you who’ve been following along for a while will recognize this one since we rush-released it last year for PAX East. Since it was rushed, we’ve never really been thrilled with the way it came out so we finally got around to fleshing it out a bit. Bacon deserves better!

If there were rumors about our death…they might be slightly exaggerated. Maybe.

Still here, still going strong. Hard at work on lots of new material, believe it or not. As a matter of fact, we’ve got at least 3 songs completed and another re-do done…we just can’t find time to record them. Actually, you can blame me. Between my hatred for creating drum tracks to the time/soul sucking games Red Dead Redemption and Halo: Reach, my productivity is non-existant. But have faith die hard fan(s) [or bored/misdirected surfers]! Inspiration and motivation have joined forces and lit a fire under my shapely backside! Thanks to Jonathan Coulton celebrating the 5 year anniversary of Thing A Week with a real time re-release and the healing power of Octoberfest, my resolve is stronger than ever to finish these musical gems and release them for your enjoyment! Seriously! And while I’m not quite ready to start guaranteeing a song a week like Jo-Co (I do have a baby due in less than a week after all), I will promise new greatness soon. Now if you’ll excuse me, I only need a few more hours until I hit 50 in RDR multiplayer… -J

Ronnie James Dio – RIP

Like many of you, we were sincerely saddened to hear of the passing of metal icon Ronnie James Dio. So, we’re going to cope with our grief the only way we know how: by recording a tribute song.

Stay tuned – Stay hungry – Stay metal. -J

Late and brief update

Just a quick update here: After a brief post-PAX break, we’re back at it. Not only are there some new tunes in the pipe, but we’ve begun work on a video project that we think you’ll get a kick out of. So hang in there and you shall be rewarded. Back to baseball…
